I have a thing with jackets, I really really really love them. One of the downsides of living in a warm climate (where the average temperature is 30°C) is that I don’t get to wear them outside. I do wear them inside… Not something you’d expect but it is often so cold inside of restaurants and stores that I usually take a jacket with me. Honestly I hate the cold and get cold quite easily but I love wearing my jackets so I have started to tolerate these air-conditioned rooms.
When I talk jackets I mean tough motorcycle jackets, the coolest jeans jacket, classy blazers, comfortable oversized variations, colorful embroidered jackets, detailed evening jackets, the perfect double breasted blazer, a fun cropped model, … (You get the idea right? Because I can go on like this for some time.) I mean that I’m not just talking about the boring black or dark blue, 2 or 3 buttoned jacket that you wear to work because you don’t know what else to wear. Don’t get me wrong, I used to have one of those but I’ve decided to switch to the fun side! These ladies set the perfect example.
(I don’t own the right of any of these photos, they all come from Pinterest.)
I’m setting the bar a little high but it’s pure joy to look at right??! A jacket can dress your outfit up or down and make for the perfect statement piece. Even for work with the simplest combination of a white shirt and black pants an interesting jacket will make the difference.
Now here comes the big news, Unknown Curiosity is going to specialize in jackets! I bet you felt that one coming from miles away…
The reactions I received over the past few months all come down to the same thing. Everyone loves a good jacket but it’s hard to find a somewhat original and “fashionable” jacket for a reasonable price. When you go shopping at Zara you risk 10 other people you know buying the same one, at H&M you’ll be able to score one from time to time but quality is often a problem and then there is… well what comes next? Designer brands have made the most gorgeous jackets over the past seasons but their pricing strategy is often a problem for most of us.
With Unknown Curiosity I am going to try to be the gap in between. I truly mean it because now that I’ve started this blog and shared this message with all of you I’ll be very royally screwed if it doesn’t work out. Ha!
