Not sure if you figured it out yet but the logo and brand name that I am using for this blog is also the branding I will be using my actual fashion brand.
The brand name “Unknown Curiosity” is what I like to think of as a short description of myself and what I have been up to for the last few years. I am curious for new experiences, cities and cultures while I move into the unknown. Or well honestly for the brand I see it more as an idea gone rogue where my curiosity is larger than normal and thus unknown to me. When I decided to actually start working on my own brand I realized that my curiosity will have to help me out and keep me motivated because although I am schooled in “Fashion Business” it isn’t really enough to build a brand from the ground here in Mumbai.
I’ve been studying, living and now working abroad since I was 18. First came Paris, then London, then followed New York (I <3 YOU !), then came Buenos Aires and now there is Mumbai. I am quite literally a BIG city lover. Each city has shaped my personality and experience and after a while moving around becomes the norm. I get a kick out of moving or traveling to a new city. I want to know the stores, the people, the food, the cultural customs, the architecture, the pace of everyday life etc. Every start is a fresh one and although it is quite exhausting to start over every time it is also very exciting because you have no idea what the next years are going to turn out to be.
As for my choice of logo I am a big fan of minimalism when esthetically branding things out. The logo is about the brand name and I love the simple contrast of white and black. Black and white is just classy and fun at the same time. We’ve also passed the age where branding was only about the logo and packaging. Branding is now just as much about the story you are telling with your products and the overall communication and advertising. This is quite possibly the thing I am most excited about, writing the story of “Unknown Curiosity” and shaping it into a proper brand.
