Drum roll please…
I did it! I have QUIT my job… Not something you’d expect anyone getting really excited about but as of today I am officially working full time on Unknown Curiosity and that makes for one very happy me. It is really quite sad you can’t hear me cheer. Coincidentally we had a hilarious weekend so that seems like the perfect initiation of this rollercoaster ride!
Just saying the words “I am handing in my resignation” was probably one of the scariest things I have ever done because apart from quitting my job it also meant that there is no going back anymore, I am going to have to make this work! And make it work I will! (I am writing this down with a very serious face while sitting in our living room, in a desk chair, feet on the table, listening to Rather Be ft. Jess Glynne by Clean Bandit for the last 15 minutes, so I obviously have a very long way to go but give me some credit please!)
Apart from this intel on my very “professional” work-environment I also snapped some pictures of the recent developments on my embroidery designs to brighten up your Monday!
(one of the first samples Asif gave me to show me his thread-embroidery skills and some different stitches and techniques)
(I got a little carried away and we now have this crazy embroidered flamingo which will soon decorate my office!!)
The last 4 pictures are the most recent samples we worked on and they all use different stitches, some more detailed than others. These thread embroideries will (or might! I am not going to show you any of the final designs, would take away the fun of it all really…) be used on pashmina stoles/scarves using some fun, modern and intricate designs.
Things should speed up now so I am going to do my best to keep you updated!
